POLAND – Harold L. Knowles, 76, of Harris Hill Road, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 21, at his home.

He was born in Wilton, June 25, 1927, the son of George and Albina Hatch Knowles. He retired from employment with the City of Auburn in 1978. He had a warm and captivating smile and was always willing to help others. He was loved by all who knew him and was a very hard worker.

He is survived by three sisters, Mabel and Viola Knowles, both of Yarmouth, and Ann Thompson and her husband Leroy of Farmington; two brothers, Alfred of Portland, and Orin and his wife Melissa of Chesterville; his caregivers, Edyth Gagnon and her husband Roger of Poland; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and one sister, Dorothy.
