I am convinced Gov. Baldacci is a bit confused. He is asking all of Maine to back him and a certain Samuel Pratt of Hudson, N.Y., in blocking a replacement cement plant here in Hudson, N.Y. This plant is designed to replace an old plant. The new plant will be less polluting and more efficient.
Perhaps the great governor should look to Maine and its own cement and paper plants.
We all have to fight for cleaner air. We need to fight to clean the air in our own backyards before we go across state lines to fight .
