AUGUSTA – Arthur E. Tyler, 69, of Winthrop, died Thursday, May 20, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta after a brief illness.
He was born in Wilton on Jan. 6, 1935, the son of Harold E. and Ethel F. (Lathrop) Tyler. He received his education in Farmington, graduating with the class of 1953 and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from Sept. 21, 1953 to July 2, 1957. After 30 years of employment with International Paper, he retired in Sept. of 1997.
He is survived by his companion and snuggle bunny, Gerry Frost, of Manchester; three daughters, Mindy Keith and husband, Mark of Standish, Tatia Lewis of Portland and Torie Gendron and husband, Mike also of Portland; brother, Calvin Tyler and wife, Monty of Wilton; sister, Marion Hinds and husband, Richard of Belgrade Lakes; half brother and half sister, Glenwood Tyler and wife, Priscilla of Strong and Noella Davis of Wilton and eight grandchildren. Art was predeceased by his parents; a stepmother, Violet Tyler and his brother, Kenneth Tyler.
