WARREN – NALS of Maine, formerly known as Maine Association of Legal Support Staff, held its 25th Annual Meeting and Educational Conference at the Sheepscot River Inn, Edgecomb on April 23-25, 2005.

The theme for the weekend was “NALS of Maine at 25, Silver achieved, going for Gold.”

During the weekend, officers and functional directors for fiscal year May 1, 2004, to April 30, 2005, were elected and installed.

The new board comprises President Davida D. Barter, employed by Wright & Mills of Skowhegan; Donna L. Jancewicz, Hale & Hamlin of Ellsworth; Lori J. Brown, Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky LLP of Bangor; Stacey Modery, Gary M. Growe P.A. of Bangor; Functional Director Cynthia Fitzmaurice, Law Office of Pamela J. Ames of Waterville; Functional Director Kelley A. Haskell, Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky LLP, Bangor; Functional Director Vicky J. Neale, Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky LLP; Functional Director Karen M. Mills, James W. Brannan of Rockland.

The installation ceremony was conducted by Past President Brenda L. Plourde. During the Banquet Saturday night, the annual award of excellence was presented to Renee Ann Lindsey, of Farrell, Rosenblatt & Russell in Bangor.

This award is presented to a NALS of Maine member who has shown outstanding service to the state and local chapters and exemplary dedication to the legal profession.
