DIXFIELD – A special town meeting to consider accepting Child Hollow Road as a town way begins at 6 p.m. Monday, May 24, in the fire station kitchen.
Prior to that, at the 4:30 p.m. selectmen’s meeting in the Ludden Memorial Library Community Room, officials are expected to revisit police policy amendments and the town’s personnel policy.
According to minutes of the May 17 selectmen’s meeting, the board OK’d two amendments to the town’s police policy as proposed by Town Manager Nanci Allard.
The first amendment sought to clarify language as it relates to the town manager; the second, to the police chief.
Allard also proposed a new police coverage schedule. Selectmen discussed the matter with Chief Richard A. Pickett, who advised against adopting it, the minutes stated.
After Pickett left, the board advised Allard to search for other possible police schedules and to check with other four-person police departments.
New business topics:
• Roger Arsenault, chairman of the operating board of Black Mountain of Maine ski area in Rumford;
• A director of the water and sewer departments;
• A community development block grant survey;
• The $1,500 blue fabric fence screen erected at Harlow Park next to Dirigo High School on Weld Street.
