BRIDGTON – John Ludwig, RN, vice president of administration, announces that Ann Donahue, RN, is the 2004 recipient of the Winnie R. Moore, RN, Clinical Nursing Award.

Donahue is a staff nurse in the inpatient unit. The medical staff of Bridgton Hospital determines the award. Dr. Christopher May, Bridgton Hospital Internal Medicine, made the announcement in honor of National Nursing Week May 6 to 10.

Donahue was presented an engraved commemorative Revere pewter bowl, a bouquet of red roses and a gift certificate to her choice of Maine stores. In addition, her nurse manager, Donna Joyce, RN, handed down a candle in a simple wood candleholder representative of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing and the “Lady with the Lamp.”

Donahue will have her name added to the permanent plaque located on the Kendal and Anna Ham Inpatient Wing of the hospital.

In recognizing Donahue, May lauded her highly competent, caring and compassionate nursing skills. Donahue has been a nurse at Bridgton Hospital since 1994.
