NEWPORT, R.I. – Wilhelmina Margarieta (Person) Connelly, 81, of 22 North Drive, Portsmouth, R.I., died Sunday, May 23, at Village House.

She was the wife of the late Herbert M Connelly.

Born in Lewiston, on July 20, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Fritz and Susan (Morris) Person.

Mrs. Connelly was a graduate of Lewiston High School and attended Bates College in Lewiston. She was a homemaker who enjoyed music, needlework and sewing. Mrs. Connelly worked with the Senior Companion Program of Rhode Island.

She is survived by her son, William M. Connelly of Greene; two daughters, Wilhelmina Terry Pelletier of Fall River, Mass., and Marvina Trena LePage of Portsmouth, RI; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Thomas P. Connelly.
