• May 25 – A Rumford resident reported that someone had made small scratches on the passenger side of her car and left what appeared to be human feces on her steering wheel sometime during the night while the car was parked behind Jack’s Place on Rumford Avenue.

• May 25 – Two vehicles parked on Rangeley Place were reported to have been gone through by someone overnight, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

• May 24, 8:03 a.m. – A Waldo Street resident reported that her estranged husband, who reportedly had a knife, had just entered her residence and attacked her, despite a protection from abuse order in force, said Sgt. Stacy Carter. Police arrested Mark Penley, 34, of Rumford, charging him with violation of a protective order, felony aggravated assault, felony terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, felony burglary, and obstructing the report of a crime by not allowing her to call police. Penley was released on $400 cash bail to guarantee his appearance at arraignment on July 6 in Rumford District Court.

• May 22 – A Lochness Road resident reported that someone had entered his unlocked parked vehicle overnight and stolen tools worth $750.

• May 22 – A Spruce Street resident reported that someone had entered her parked car and taken a purse containing a small amount of cash. The purse was later recovered, minus the cash.

• May 22 – An Erchles Street resident reported that someone had entered his parked vehicle overnight and taken an estimated $1,000 worth of items.

A similar rash of thefts from vehicles was reported last week. All remain under investigation.

• Joshua Wheeler, 26, of Rumford, on a charge of operating under suspension, on May 24. He was released on $40 cash bail.

• Jacob M. Noury, 24, of Denmark, on a charge of operating under suspension, on May 22. He was released on $100 cash bail.

• Marcus Carter, 23, of Rumford, on a warrant for failure to pay fine, on May 22. He was released on $136.25 cash bail.

• Maurice D. Young, 36, of Rumford, on charges of violating a protective order and disorderly conduct, on May 20. He was released on $250 unsecured bail.

• Peter Cunningham, 20, of Rumford, on a probation violation, on May 19. He was transported to Oxford County Jail in Paris.

• Glen A. Knox, 19, of Canton, on a charge of operating after suspension, on May 19. He was transported to Oxford County jail.

• Stacey B. Dolloff, 18, of Rumford, on a charge of furnishing a place for minors to consume liquor, on May 18. She was released on $200 unsecured bail.

SUMMONS

• Nathan Palmer, 21, of Oquossoc, on a charge of having improper plates, on May 21. He is to be arraigned on July 6 in Rumford District Court.
