LEWISTON – Lary D. Hudson, 63, of 2nd Street, Auburn died at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center Sunday, May 23.

He was born in Holipaw, Fla., on July 16, 1940, the son of William and Dorothy Hudson. He was educated in the Florida school system and enlisted in the military after high school. Mr. Hudson, a Green Beret, served in the United States Army under the Fifth Special Forces Group working Conventional and Unconventional Operations in Operations and Intelligence. Throughout his career in the military, he earned the Purple Heart and the Silver Star and was a proud member of The Purple Heart Association. He retired from the military in 1977.

Mr. Hudson was a collector of ” Eagles” as well as other patriotic memoribelia. He enjoyed reading, fishing, golfing, cooking, and watching television and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his three daughters, Deborah Lynne Profenno of Auburn, Paula Hudson of Jay, and S. Rebecca Carmody and her husband Craig of Greenfield, N.H.; his son, Lary Daniel Hudson Jr. of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; his sister, Linda Butt of Fort Pierce Fla.; and brother, Ted Hudson of Vero Beach, Fla.
