PORTLAND (AP) – Prentice Redman homered, doubled, scored two runs and drove in two as the Binghamton Mets defeated the Portland Sea Dogs 5-1 Tuesday.
Binghamton starting pitcher Neal Musser surrendered only one run on five hits over seven innings as he improved his record to 4-1.
The Mets (29-17) scored all the runs they would need to win in the first inning when David Wright doubled and Redman knocked his team-leading 10th homer over the left-field wall.
Wright’s RBI single made it 3-0 Binghamton in the third.
Jeff Bailey singled and Brett Roneberg doubled as the Sea Dogs (19-26) scored their lone run in the sixth.
A double by Redman and RBI singles by Ron Acuna and Dave Detienne keyed two Binghamton runs in the eighth.
