CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. – Robert L. “Bob” Landry Sr., 77, died Monday, May 24, in Crystal River, Fla.

Born March 29, 1927, the son of the late Francois and Leda (Simoneau) Landry, he was a lifelong resident of Lewiston, until moving to Homosassa, Fla. in 1981.

Bob was a World War II U.S. Army infantry veteran. He worked for the State of Maine as a construction welder and pipefitter, until retiring in 1974.

He maintained his membership in the Local 716 BTJ Pipefitters Union and recently received his 50-year honor plaque. He was Catholic and will be most remembered as a “real family man” and for his love of all sports.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Pauline C. Landry of Homosassa, Fla.; his loving daughter, Linda Mushlit and her husband, Frank of Crystal River, Fla.; three grandchildren, Candy Maynard of Hernando, Fla., Lindey Mushlit and his wife, Colleen of Inverness, Fla., and Brandon Mushlit of Ozello, Fla.; two great-granddaughters, Katelyn Cunningham and Zoe Mushlit; and three sisters, Emilienne Roy, Gertrude Martel and Georgette Poisson, all of Lewiston.

“Bob” was predeceased by his son, Robert Leo Landry Jr. in 1972. He was the youngest of 15 children and was also predeceased by six brothers, Wilfred, Gerard, Henry, Camille, Rosaire and Armand Landry; and five sisters, Marie Jeanne Beaulieu, Ophelia Gagne, Medora Gauthier, Juliette Provencher and Marguerite L. Daigle.
