This is a wonderful time of year, and we love to get outside and enjoy the great Maine air and natural resources. Unfortunately, our current administration and the Environmental Protection Agency have taken a step backward in preserving our environment in the last few years.

We have an answer in Congress with Rep. Michael Michaud. Environmental issues motivated him to public service and his commitment continues today. Congressman Michael Michaud has worked to reverse the backward trend by advancing bills that would reduce mercury and smog in our air, strengthen the Clean Water Act, fully support our national parks and promote alternative energy sources. Many of these initiatives pay for themselves and create jobs in emerging fields, and they all protect the environment.

In November, I hope everyone will consider the importance of our environment when casting their vote.
