MEXICO – Beginning on Tuesday, June 1, and continuing throughout the summer months, the Library’s hours will be: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Child safety seats
MEXICO – The Child Health Center’s ProtectME program will be sponsoring a second Child Passenger Safety Fitting Station for River Valley on June 4. Shannon Hamner, a certified child passenger safety technician, will be on hand from noon to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Mexico Wal-Mart to inspect the installation of child passenger seats and to check for proper restraint of children in the seats. This is a free service.
Benefit
RUMFORD – A benefit to help with medical expenses will be held for Kegan and Logan Kenny from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at the American Legion, Congress Street. There will be food, entertainment, raffles and a door prize. Cost will be $6 per person or $10 couple.
Kids Free Fishing Day
GORHAM, N.H. – Kids can learn to fish and try their luck on the shore of Wildcat Pond at Wildcat Ski Area on Route 16 in Gorham, N.H., on Saturday, June 5, during the White Mountain National Forest’s 13th annual Kids Free Fishing Day. Kids aged 15 and under are invited to bring an adult and their gear for a day of fishing and learning. Jay Milot, U.S. Forest Service fisheries biologist, encourages everyone to come to celebrate National Fishing Week.
Learning stations, kids’ activities, prizes and a casting contest will add to the day’s festivities. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the activities ending at noon.
