ORONO – Joshua Schoolcraft of Dixfield has been inducted into the Senior Skulls Honor Society at the University of Maine in Orono.

Membership is considered the highest all-inclusive honor to which a male student at the university can aspire, and members represent the top 1 percent of their class. The society consist of a group of seniors who have shown outstanding leadership abilities, academic achievement, community and campus involvement, responsibility and integrity while an undergraduate. Members are considered consummate role models for university men.

Schoolcraft, an electrical and computer engineering major, has also been selected for a 10-week internship this summer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. He will be involved with the Mars Rovers communications systems.

He is a graduate of Dirigo High School, class of 2000, and is the son of Bill and Sheila Schoolcraft of Dixfield.
