LEWISTON – Therese R. Beaulieu, 87, died peacefully Saturday, May 29, at the St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion with her family by her side, following a short and courageous battle with lung cancer.

A lifelong resident of Lewiston, she was born June 10, 1916, a daughter of Joseph and Antoinette Lemieux Roux. She was educated at St. Peter’s and Jordan Schools.

On May 1, 1943, she married Roland “Bole” X. Beaulieu.

She was employed 32 years as a stitcher at Pepperell Manufacturing Company, and later worked at Crest and Dori Shoes until her retirement.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and had a heart of gold. There was nothing she enjoyed more than having the kids over at the house and cooking for them. She was a devout Catholic and her strong faith was an inspiration to those who knew her. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. She was a very special person.

Her hobbies included cooking, knitting, reading, doing word search puzzles, playing bingo and cards, especially Crazy 13. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, a member of Holy Cross Senior Citizens, Club 50 and an honorary member of the Ladies of St. Anne’s Sodality at Holy Family Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Louise St. Pierre of Lewiston, and Diane Beaulieu, with whom she resided; one son, Pierre Beaulieu and his wife Laurette of Barrington, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Michael St. Pierre and his wife Kim of Mechanic Falls, Steven St. Pierre and his wife Jennifer of Waterford, Annette Bradbury and her husband Scott of Lewiston, David St. Pierre and his wife Kim of Manchester, N.H., PJ Beaulieu of Raymond, N.H., and Roxy and Danny Bischoff of Barrington, N.H.; eight great-grandchildren, Nicole, Samantha, Bethany, Nathan, Ben, Cheyanna, Christopher, and Spencer; a special sister-in-law, Lucienne Roux; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; three brothers, Fernand, Andre, and Dominique Roux; and four sisters, Cecile Roux, Blanche Lebrun, Adrienne Dumais, and Lucienne Blais.
