MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Jeff Bailey hit two homers and drove in four runs to lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 5-3 win Monday over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and a sweep of their four-game series.

Bailey’s homers, his fifth and sixth of the season, supported the pitching of starter Chris Smith (4-2), who picked up the win. Gustavo Chacin (4-1) took his first loss of the season.

New Hampshire (26-23) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Danny Solano scored on an Aaron Hill fielder’s choice. Portland (23-27) tied the score in the second inning on Bailey’s first homer.

The Sea Dogs erupted for four runs in the sixth inning on Bailey’s second homer, a three-run blast, and an RBI single by Edgar Martinez to go up 5-1. The Fisher Cats got one back in the bottom of the inning on Matt Logan’s RBI single and another in the ninth when Tyrell Godwin scored on a throwing error.
