LEWISTON – Mrs. Rosilda Labbe, 94, of Perley St., died Sunday, May 30, at d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for the past six weeks.

She was born in St. Marcel, Quebec, Canada, May 23, 1910, a daughter of Joseph and Helene (Tremblay) Caron and was educated in the schools of Canada and Brunswick.

In 1933, her family moved to Lewiston and there she remained a lifelong resident. On May 23, 1936 she married Irenee Labbe who passed away November 26, 1981. Mrs. Labbe worked over 25 years at the Bates Manufacturing Co. until her retirement.

She was a member of Holy Family Church and was a life member of Ladies of St. Ann Sodality. In her later years she often said that she had loved her work and she greatly enjoyed reminiscing about her working years and always said “I’ve had a good life.”

She leaves a sister Bertha Gravel of Lewiston; two sisters-in-law Georgette Caron and Jeannette Caron, both of Lewiston and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Adrienne Larochelle and three brothers, Leandrus, Joseph and Dechamplain Caron.
