DIXFIELD- A Family Fun Day and Mud Run will start at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 12 at the Mountain View Campground on Weld Street.
Admission is $5 per person entrance fee plus $5 per ATV. There is no charge for children under 12.
There will be a Poker Run and Trail Ride starting at 9 a.m. on June 13.
The event will include concessions stands, pressure wash, camping available by calling 562-8285, a Saturday night dance with DJ Ed Haines, kids games and an obstacle course.

Fire volunteers to host Summer Fest
CANTON – The Volunteer Fire Department will host the third annual Canton Summer Fest from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at the Municipal Building and in the ball field across the street. The rain date is June 13.
There will be a flea market and craft fair; tables are available for $10 and $15. In the ball field, a firemen’s muster will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Summer Fest will include door prizes, food, refreshments, games, dunk tank, horse rides, homemade pie auction, women’s and girls’ fry-pan throwing contest and chain-saw carving. The Canton jail will be open.
The band Pop ‘n Country will perform from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission to the ball field will be $3 per adult; ages 10 to 17, $1, and children under 10, free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. In front of the fire station, Whitney Masonic Lodge 167 will host a chicken barbecue at noon for $5 per meal.
This year’s profits will go toward the forestry equipment account. For more information or to reserve a table, people can call Wayne or Mary Dube, 597-3043.
Anyone who wishes to donate a pie to the fire department to be auctioned off may leave at the Municipal Building the morning of June 12.
Vendors needed for market
DIXFIELD – Vendors are being sought for a Main Street Outdoor Market on Sunday, Aug. 15, starting at 9 a.m.
