AUBURN – A course on the Fundamentals of Finance for Non-Financial Managers is offered from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays, June 7-21, at Central Maine Community College.
The course covers the benefits of being financially savvy, inclduing understanding the financial impact of decisions; cutting through the complex jargon of accounting; learning smart ways to apply key financial concepts and tools; gaining information to perform at a new level of financial confidence and other subjects.
This program teaches the core concepts of finance and accounting in a straightforward and easy-to-understand manner including terminology, principles, financial statements, distinction between income and cash flow, and valuation. Participants will learn how financial data is used to make business decisions and to evaluate performance.
The class is presented by Howard F. Herodes, certified public accountant with more than 18 years professional experience. For the last two years, he has built a new business, Herodes Financial, to provide high level financial support to Maine businesses. In addition, he is an adjunct professor in the business schools at Central Maine Community College and Husson College.
The cost of the course is $165 and includes materials.
