MANCHAUG, Mass. – The New England Concrete Masonry Association in cooperation with the National Concrete Masonry Association, a national trade association representing the concrete masonry industry, announces its call for entries for the fourth annual Design Awards of Excellence. This prestigious awards program recognizes excellence in projects featuring the use of concrete masonry in the commercial, residential and landscape markets, presenting an “Award of Excellence” and an “Award of Honor” in each of these segments.
Independent panels of distinguished architects and landscape architect professionals will review the entries in the NECMA/NCMA Designs Awards of Excellence program, both for regional and national recognition. In the judging, projects will be reviewed based on exemplary skill and sensitivity in the resolution of functional and technical requirements, in addition to societal, technical and environmental advancement.
All architects, designers and landscape architects are eligible to submit entries of any project size, budget, style or type. New projects and renovation/restoration projects are eligible. Concrete masonry units such as architectural block, unit concrete pavers, segmental retaining walls or articulated concrete block revetment must be a primary construction material. Entries must be designed by licensed design professionals or engineers at time of project completion. Entries can be for projects anywhere in the world and completed since Jan. 1, 2000. Entry forms must be postmarked no later than June 15, 2004.
Complete submission information, requirements, and entry requirements will be provided upon receipt of the initial entry form and fee.
