BUCKFIELD – A benefit supper for Martha Douglas, who is fighting cancer, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at the Masonic Hall.
Admission is a $5 donation.
Proceeds will benefit Martha’s traveling expenses to out-of-state doctors and hospitals for treatment.
Health celebration
BRIDGTON – The Lake Region Healthy Community Coalition invites people to celebrate its array of programs at a breakfast Tuesday. It will be served at 7:30 a.m. June 8 at the Bridgton Community Center, 15 Depot St.
There are 19 towns in the coalition, which will present updates on projects it has been working with the past three years. Guest speakers will be Susan Savell, executive coordinator of Communities For Youth and Children; Nancy Anderson, program director of Maine Mentoring Partnership; and Lee Anne Dodge, program director of One Maine.
The celebration will be an opportunity to get involved and learn more about Yes To Youth T.V., BodySmart Walking Program, Regional Trails Summit, Senior Transportation Program, Youth Adventure Club, Elder Network, Time Dollar Network, Across Ages and others. Swim lessons
OTISFIELD – Otisfield swim lessons will start Monday, July 12, and run through July 30, at the town beach on Pleasant Lake. Classes are mornings, Monday through Friday.
The lessons cost $5. Registration forms may picked be up at Otisfield Town Office on Route 121, Otisfield Community School on Powhattan Road. Completed forms and fees may be returned to the school by June 4 or the town office by June 18.
Children must be at the beach at 8 a.m. on the first day of lessons to be divided into lesson groups. After that, children will be assigned a time for daily lessons.
