DIXFIELD – The last in the Elder Issues series of lectures until October will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the American Legion. The subject will be “How to talk to your doctor.”
There will be skits and time to share stories and ideas with other attendees. The presentation is free and open to people of all ages. To preregister phone Elsemore Dixfield Center at 562-4226.
Summer programs
RUMFORD – Greater Rumford Community Center announces registration for its summer programs is required by Wednesday, June 9.
Tee-Ball is for ages 3-6. If enough children register there will be two divisions: ages 3-4 and ages 5-6. It is five weeks, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday and Wednesday, and begins June 14.
GRCC Summer Day Camp is June 14 to Aug. 6 for ages 5-13. It features activities such as hiking, soccer, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, guest speakers, swim lessons and free swim. Time is 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Hosmer Field Complex. Swim lessons and free swim are at Black Mountain pool.
Summer soccer begins June 14 for four weeks for ages six to 13. The time is 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be instruction and possibly games.
Track for ages 7 to 13 will practice two times a week with meets on Thursdays.
Swim lessons are scheduled June 14 to July 9, and July 12 to Aug. 6. Registration will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at Black Mountain pool, and adults must accompany children. Lessons will be offered for ages 4 to adult at Black Mountain pool.
Swim lessons will be offered at the following locations and times:
Roxbury Pond, June 14 through June 25; Howard Pond, June 28 through July 9; Worthley Pond, July 12 through Aug. 6.
Registration for lessons at ponds must be done by an adult on the first day at noon. For more information or to register for non-swimming programs phone the Greater Rumford Community Center at 369-9906.
