NEWPORT – A Livermore Falls man received minor injuries and a court summons after he slammed into a vehicle on Route 7 Thursday morning, according to a police report.
Gregory Thurston, 45, was driving in a line of northbound vehicles when the accident happened at 9:20 a.m., Newport police Sgt. Sanger Davis Jr. said. Thurston “was passing several cars and didn’t see (Angela Carsley) turning,” he said.
Carsley, 44, of Newport was turning left off the highway when her vehicle was struck by Thurston’s, Davis said.
Another vehicle driven by 26-year-old Albert Violette of Herman was also involved, but the initial police report filed Thursday did not explain how, the sergeant said.
Thurston and Violette had minor injuries, while Carsley suffered a cut on her head and was taken to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield. She was treated and released, an emergency room employee said Thursday night.
Thurston was issued a summons to appear in 3rd District Court in Newport on July 21 to answer a charge of driving to endanger, Davis said.
The accident was investigated by Newport police Lt. Gary Morin.
