AUBURN – Auburn Middle School TEam 7 will hold a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Florian’s Market, Main Street. The students are part of the Service to the Community While Learning Project at the school. Proceeds will go to the Greater Andrscoggin Humane Society shelter. Punch will be available also.

Healing service

LITCHFIELD – St. Leo’s Church, Route 9/126, will host an Ecumenical Healing Service at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 6, offered for parishioners and others in the larger Litchfield community. St. Leo’s is handicapped accessible. Those wishing more information or needing help with transportation can call 737-4761, 737-4146 or 268-4237. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Lodge degree

AUBURN – Ashlar Lodge 105, AF and AM, will work a Master Mason Degree on Monday, June 7, at the Auburn Masonic Temple, 1021 Turner St. There will be a 6:30 p.m. supper and the work will begin at 7:30. AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet Monday, June 7, at Odd Fellows Hall, 50 Elm St. The 7 p.m. meeting will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6.

The Androscoggin Valley Past Noble Grands Association will confer the Rebekah Degree on a class of candidates. Members from the lodges in the district will participate in the tableaux. During the business meeting first nomination of officers will take place and Flag Day will be observed.

Y-ettes barbecue

LEWISTON – The Y-ettes will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at O’Donnell’s, 140 Blackmer St., Auburn, for a potluck barbecue and pool party. Members will discuss the recent card party that raised $1,170 for the YWCA. Chairwoman was Bertha Normand.

AUBURN – The Lost Valley Mountain Sports Venture Crew will host an open house at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the Auburn Middle School. Venturing is open to males and females ages 14 to 20. For more information call Matt Mower at 797-5252, ext. 33.

LISBON FALLS – Guest speaker for the Lisbon Historical Society’s meeting on Wednesday, June 9, will be Merton Ricker. His presentation will be titled “Lisbon’s German Ancestors.” Ricker will explain the reasons they came to the area and he’ll also tell about their lives as they worked in the mills or other. Some German recipes will be shared. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. and will be held at 9 Union St. The public is welcome; admission is free.

DAR to elect

AUBURN – Mary Dillingham Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Rolandeau’s Restaurant. Election will be held and the program will relate to Flag Day.

Look good

LEWISTON – A Look Good … Feel Better American Cancer Society program for assisting women who are faced with appearance changes resulting from cancer treatment will be offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Central Maine Medical Center’s Cynthia A. Rydholm Cancer Treatment Center.

A volunteer from the National Cosmetology Association will teach a small group of women how to apply cosmetics specific to their individual needs. Hair and wig styling will also be discussed. Wigs are available through purchase or loan. Each participant will be given a complimentary bag of cosmetics made available through the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation.

AUBURN – The Androscoggin Past Noble Grands Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at 50 Elm St. for the annual Strawberry Festival. Guests from other districts will be present. A potluck supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. by Supper Committee members Pat and Joe Robichaud and Beulah Allen. All past noble grands are invited.

Grange dinner

AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange 65 will meet for dinner at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at the Village Inn. Reservations should be made in advance by contacting Glenys Ryder at 783-6897. Following dinner, members will meet at the hall for a business session and election of officers. All members and guests are welcome.

Pioneers lunch

LEWISTON – Stevens Life Member Club, Telephone Pioneers, will hold a luncheon meeting Wednesday, June 16, at the Ramada Inn. Fellowship will begin at 11 followed by lunch at noon. A short business meeting will follow. Members and guests are asked to bring nonperishable food for the needy. Reservations are required by Thursday, June 10.
