RUMFORD – Floyd Robert Emerson Sr., 86, passed away Thursday, June 3, at the Rumford Hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of Andover, born in East Andover Oct. 11, 1917, the son of Fred Luther and Erma Perkins Emerson.

He married Marguerite Octavia Campbell on Sept. 3, 1939.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Cabot Lodge.

He was a longtime employee of Andover Wood Products until his retirement in 1985.

He is survived by five children, Sandra Barnett of Ann Arbor, Mich., Floyd Emerson Jr. and his wife Cindy of Andover, Tamara Poole and her husband Anthony of Valrico, Fla., Fred Emerson and his wife Margaret of Andover, and Frank Emerson and his wife Louise of York; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law, Amos Campbell of Lewiston.

He will be sadly missed by the many friends he met while driving his little Jeep.
