Dancers’ recital

RUMFORD – Expressive Movement Dance Studio of Rumford, owned and operated by Debbie Murphy, will have its annual dance recital and dramatic production at 6 p.m. Friday, June 11, and Saturday, June 12 in Muskie Auditorium at Mountain Valley High School. It will feature dancers of all ages from the River Valley area and guest appearances by several former members of the studio.

This year’s recital, “Full Faerie Magic,” is set in the deep, dark woods and focuses on twin fairy sisters, Natasha (Rachel Hall) and Bernadette (Brianna Garcia). They’re trying to their worthiness to receive full fairy magic to the self-absorbed Fairy Queen Geraldine (Moriah Cormier). During their misadventures, they meet many highly animated creatures. The show’s elaborate costumes are designed by Karen Barrett of Mexico.

The show was written and directed by Thea Dunn, who also wrote and recorded a song, “Precious,” for the play.
