JAY – The Incredible Seniors Bowling League completed another season of bowling at Meadow Lanes with the annual banquet and awards night held May 5 at LaFleur’s Restaurant.
Election of officers was held: president, Brian Rowe; vice president, Paul Farrell; secretary, Mary DeCristofaro; treasurer, Lee Farrell.
Awards were given in several categories.
Team awards
First place team: Sterlings with members Bob Benoit, Helen Gossom, Ida Goodhart, Bob Nixon, Jake Stansfield, with help from Jo Hannon.
High team series scratch: Sparrows with 2469 pins; Wes Lane, Sal Landry, Clark Toothaker, Pearl Steward, Paul Farrell.
High team series Handicap: Hawks with 3337 pins; Barbara White, Mary Collins, Pete Sickels, Glen Swett, Pat Lundy.
Team high game scratch: Owls with 888 pins; Denise Morin, Bev Eames, Theda Fairbanks, Bill Richards, Don Gossom.
Team high game handicap: Blue Birds with 1160 pins; Ann Sullivan, Bill Paradis, Mary DeCristofaro, John Neal, Jim Gajarski.
Individual awards
High game scratch: women, Betty Williams 228; men, Norman Blodgett 278.
High game handicap: women, Sherrill Rollins 285; men, Bill Frazer 287.
High series scratch: women, Lee Farrell 555; men, Bill Richardson 687.
High series handicap: women, Louise Hagerstrom 735; men, Brian Rowe 740.
High average: women, Jean Sickels 156; men, Paul Farrell 181.
Most improved: women, Ann Sullivan, plus 22.96 pins; men, Bill O’Connor, plus 22.34 pins.
WIBC-ABC high average awards:
Class A – 70+, Jean Sickels 156, Larry Duval 173.
Class B – 65-69, Sherrill Rollins 149, Paul Farrell 181.
Class C – 60-64, Linda Blodgett 145, Brian Rowe 168.
Class D – 55-59, Betty Williams 147, Bob Nixon 139.
There were other individual WIBC and ABC awards too numerous to print.
