AUBURN – The Auburn Education Association held its annual retirement tea on May 5 to honor those retiring this year at the Park Avenue Methodist Church.
Gladys Chapman, an association retiree, catered the event. She was assisted by Pam MacDonald. The church dining room was decorated with pastel tablecloths complemented with spring roses.
The co-president of the association, Tim Wegmann, introduced each retiree and the speaker for each. Tina Vanasse spoke for Jan Lancaster, Linda Leiva for Connie Jacques, Bill Reilly and Sue Callahan for Gail Santerre, Jim Searles for Bonnie Galway and Maureen Edgerton for Dennis Sweetser.
Both humorous anecdotes and the professional contributions of each retiree were shared with the association members. Each retiree was presented an engraved clock by the association.
Retirees Diana Blanchard, Carole Walker and Patti Lepage were unable to attend but also will be presented clocks.
