PARIS – The First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of completion of the church building at a 2 p.m. service Sunday, June 13.

The Rev. Dr. Carl Scovel of King’s Chapel, Boston, will deliver the anniversary sermon. Others participating will be Marilyn Hammond, Shirley Miller, Silver Moore-Leamon, the Rev. Dr. Janet Bowering and the Rev. Dr. Robert Sallies. Bowering, of the New Massachusetts Universalist Convention, will deliver the charge to the congregation.

The church’s historic Moller organ will be featured in an extended series of opening voluntaries beginning at 1:35. The service music will be provided by the choir, Renee Wales, Chrystal Walker and Forest Perkins, church organist.

The festival weekend will begin with a parish fellowship supper on Saturday evening, June 12. Barbara Swan Frost, church historian, will speak on the history of the church following the meal.

There will be no regular service at 10 a.m. Child care will be provided and a coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall.
