LEWISTON – Joyce Paradis, director of Volunteer Services at Sisters of Charity Health System, recently qualified as a certified administrator of volunteer services through the American Society of Directors of Volunteer Services.
The national organization supports professionals in the field of health care volunteer services administration and is an affiliate of the American Hospital Association. She is a graduate of Bryant College and has completed advanced studies at the Institute for Organization Management at the University of Delaware.
Paradis has an extensive background in working with volunteers. Prior to joining Sisters of Charity Health System in 1996, she worked for 13 years as program and membership services director for the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce where she provided staff support to numerous volunteer committees and was involved in planning and coordinating a wide range of member and community services.
Volunteer programs and services at Sisters of Charity Health System utilize more than 275 adult volunteers actively involved at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Community Clinical Services, St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion, Good Shepherd Food Pantry, and the Program for Grieving Children and Teens.
In addition, the Sisters of Charity Health System Volunteer Services Department offers a summer junior volunteer program for teens, providing area youth with job and learning experiences in a health care setting.
