STRONG – The Lance Cpl. Scott Paul Park’s 11th annual one-pitch softball tournament will be June 12 and 13 at the Strong Legion Field. There is a $100 entrance fee for each team.

Flag Day

FARMINGTON – The annual Flag Day observation will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at the Elks Lodge on School Street in West Farmington. There will be a formal salute to the flag and a flag burning ceremony immediately following by American Legion Post 28 of Farmington. Refreshments will follow. The public is invited to attend this observation.

Blues band

FARMINGTON – The Once a Week Blues Band will perform at the next G.I. Coffee House to be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 11, in the Old South Congregational Church on Main Street. Paul Lowell and Robert Libby from Rumford sing and play guitar and harmonica and will entertain with blues and old rock ‘n roll Friday night. Lowell and Libby have been playing together for 2 years and are developing a strong following. The G.I. Coffee House aims to provide a welcoming environment for our troops and their families and friends. There is no charge for admission and everyone is welcome.

Clothing giveaway

LIVERMORE FALLS – A clothing giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, June 12, at the rear of the Treat Memorial Library. The event is sponsored by the King’s Daughters and Sons.

4-H Leaders

FARMINGTON – Franklin County 4-H Leaders’ Association will hold its sixth annual auction at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 12, in the Starbird Building at Franklin County Fairgrounds. Preview of items begins at 6 p.m. All funds will benefit Franklin County 4-H programs. All are welcome.

Ladies seminar

NEW VINEYARD – A ladies seminar will be held June 11 and 12 at Open Bible Baptist Church on the Barker Road. The seminar begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday followed by a breakfast from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. Saturday morning and Bible study at 9 a.m. The seminar is open to all ladies from age 10 years and older. Public supper

WILTON – The First Apostolic Church will hold a public supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at the church. The menu includes baked beans, hot dogs, potato salad, cole slaw, breads and rolls, beverages and a variety of desserts. Adults, $5; children 11 and up, $5; children 10 and under, $3. Funds benefit the church building fund.

WILTON – Western Maine Community Action announces its participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.
