AUBURN – The Missing Children Alert Program Inc., a charity foundation with national headquarters in Maine, provides awareness programs for parents and children free throughout the country.

One of the principal programs is the fingerprint photo ID sessions, where a passport-type picture is taken of the child along with fingerprint and put on a card with all other pertinent information.

The parent keeps possession of the card and information regarding the child’s identity to supply to the proper agencies and law enforcement offices in the event the child should ever turn up missing.

A session is scheduled for noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at K-Mart Department Store on Center Street.

The program exists solely from contributions and volunteers that enable the sessions.
