RUMFORD – The area’s first commercial art gallery opens to the public at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The Pennacook Art Center on Congress Street at the site of a former jewelers has been in the works for several months. Its first exhibit will feature works of art from River Valley artists.
The gallery is owned by Lem Cissel who also owns Scrappers Domaine, located on Canal Street, just opposite the gallery.
Dozens of works of art will be on display. Betsy Bell, a local artist, is manager of the new venture.
Regular gallery hours will be announced next week.
