LIMINGTON – The Southern Maine Folk Association will host the second annual Doles Ridge Acoustic Music Festival to celebrate good music, family farms and healthy communities. It will be Saturday, June 26, and Sunday, June 27, in Doles Orchard, on Doles Ridge Road off routes 117 and 11.

The site will be transformed into an outdoor amphitheater. Scheduled artists include Bill Staines, David Surette and Susie Burke, Kenny White and Tom Dean from Devonsquare.

Ten years ago Earl and Nancy Bunting with their daughter, Emily, transformed a struggling apple orchard into a family-run farm providing a diverse selection of fresh produce. It specializes in pick-your-own fruits and veggies.

Proceeds from this family event will go to the Chewonki Foundation, a nonprofit environmental educational institution based in Wiscasset.

The event also will support other nonprofits, such as The Boy Scouts, Knights of Columbus and the Lions club, which plan to sell food and beverages at the event. Locally made crafts from Maine artisans will also be for sale.

There will be free camping (in orchard, use only of water hose and PortaPotties) and free parking.

Advance tickets for adults will be $20 for the day, $35 for the weekend. Adult tickets will be $25 for the day, $42 for the weekend at the door.

Students and seniors: $15 for the day in advance, $20 for the day at the door. Children 12 and under, free. FMI: www.dolesorchard.com/events.
