TURNER – The Gulf Island Gallery of Fine Art has opened at 16 River Road in a house overlooking the Gulf Island Pond section of the Androscoggin River.

Featured professional artists are John Bowdren of Pownal, Scott Hunter of Turner, Marni Lawson of Temple, Lois Strickland of Pownal, Michael Smith of Oakland, Jennifer Wadsworth of Turner and Helen Warren of Yarmouth.

On display in a unique setting of more than 1,000 square feet of space, there is a piece for every taste in the variety of styles and subject matters. Oils, acrylics, watercolors and etchings are available. All original art is framed and ready to hang. The gallery also has a small selection of unframed prints.

Work is displayed in a home setting, making it easy to visualize each piece in one’s own home, office or business. Prices range from $40 to $5,000 for original works of art.

The gallery hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also by chance or appointment.
