WILTON – Town Manager Peter Nielsen will extend an invitation to selectmen to attend the Score Health open house when they meet Tuesday.

Score Health, which is partly owned by Franklin Memorial Hospital, is a consulting firm that also sells medical computer software. The open house will be held at the old Bass building downtown from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, June 22. Gov. John Baldacci plans to attend.

Earlier this month, Score Health applied to the town Planning Board for an operating permit. The board directed the code enforcement officer Katharine Shoaps to look into some issues concerning businesses at the old Bass building.

Shoaps wrote a letter to building owner Randy Cousineau reminding him that businesses must obtain an operating permit before opening a business there. Score Health has already been operating with seven employees.

Planners also asked Shoaps to look at the original permit for the building because they believe business signs were supposed to be placed on a kiosk, not separately. Shoaps is researching the matter.

In other business, officials will consider authorizing Nielsen to accept one of two proposals for insurance covering vehicles, buildings, liability and public officials. They will also consider authorizing Nielsen to sign a service contract with the Franklin County Animal Shelter for the 2004-2005 fiscal year, and act on a list of proposed appointments for the year beginning July 1, 2004.

Officials will consider renewing an agreement with Woodard and Curran Engineers for water quality data management at the Wilton landfill at a cost of $3,870 for the 2004-2005 fiscal year. They will also discuss plans for the town’s Fire Department to sell a 1983 Dodge Diplomat and consider signing a Beano license for Hosmer Edwards Post 117 of the American Legion.

Nielsen will report that Planning Board member Bernal Allen is resigning, and give selectmen a woodlot harvest report on the Guy Chandler Road project.
