The Maine Ice Hockey Goalie/Shooting School is scheduled for August.

The program will be held August 9-13 at Biddeford Ice Arena, and August 16-20 at Kennebec Ice Arena.

The school is open to goalies and shooters ages 7-17.

Goalies will be taught the latest save techniques, crease skating, positioning, puckhandling and critical decision making.

Shooters will be taught scoring skills, focusing on shooting techniques in relation to how goalies are positioned.

Heading the program is Fred Quistgard, a professional goaltending coach since 1978 and the women’s ice hockey coach at Union College.
