AUBURN – The Home for Aged Women on Pleasant Street will hold an open house and official ribbon-cutting ceremony from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 18.

The home has undergone an extensive renovation and expansion, increasing the number of rooms from 23 to 30. The event also marks the official name change to “The Chapman House” in honor of long-time treasurer, investment officer and administrator, Jerry Chapman.

In addition to beverages, food and entertainment, the latter provided by Kathy Haley and her daughter, Shauna Vaillancourt, there will be guided tours of the remodeled and expanded facility, which has served the community since 1887. The public is invited to attend. The event will be followed by “a party,” said administrator Sandra Tukey, who will deliver opening remarks at the open house.
