SOUTH PORTLAND – Beverly Ann Spaulding, 69, of 101 Dawson St., South Portland, died at home on June 10.
She was born in Durham on May 14, 1935, the daughter of Ermund (Spud) Bowie and Wilma Gurney Bowie. She attended Durham schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church Durham, UCC. She had polio in 1954, and was in a wheelchair the rest of her life. She worked as a Medical Secretary at Thayer Hospital in Waterville and Maine Medical Center for 37 years.
She is survived by a son, Stephen Spaulding and wife Jen of South Portland; a daughter, Judy Thibdeau of Saco; two granddaughters, April Thibdeau of Saco, Emma Spaulding of South Portland; two grandsons, Brian Violette and Ethan Spaulding of South Portland; two great-grandchildren, Kalei and Anthony Thibdeau and her mother, Wilma Bowie of Durham; sisters, Frances Brown, Kathy Lowe and husband Peter of Durham, Sharon Huntley and husband Glenn of Hebron; four brothers, Roland Bowie and wife Beverly of Freeport, Willard Bowie and wife Sandra, Paul Bowie and wife Linda both of Durham, Sidney Bowie of Mechanic Falls.
She was predeceased by her father, Ermund Bowie of Durham; and two brothers, Arnold Bowie of Freeport and Lawrence Bowie of Durham.
