WILTON – Planners will deal with five applications Thursday, as well as the issue of signs at the Bass-Wilson building. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the town office.

At their last meeting, planners asked code enforcement officer Katherine Shoaps to look at the original building permit for the Bass-Wilson Building downtown to determine what kind of signs are allowed there. Planners said they believe a kiosk was to be erected, containing the names of all businesses in the building, rather than the separate signs there. Shoaps will let the board know what she has discovered.

Last month planners granted a building permit for Louis and Joyce Webster to build a business complex on Route 2 across from the Big Apple that will house several businesses. Now the Websters are asking for an amendment to the permit so they can bring in a building that has already been built.

Planners will also discuss splitting land on Fuller Street. Tracy Hollingdale purchased a lot with a small house next to her property. Hollingdale wants to sell a portion of the property where the house sits and retain the rest of it. That would cause the lot to be nonconforming, Shoaps said.

Theresa Mosher of Farmington wants permission to operate a farm stand from her van, and David Jones wants to add a 17-by-7-foot addition to his home and build a full foundation on Lake Drive. Jones’ property is in a zone for commercial-residential and residential use.

Planners will also review an application by Hank McPherson, who wants his 40- to 50-acre property to be declared exempt from subdivision regulations.
