Benefit breakfast, supper
MEXICO – The Mexico High School Class of 1977 Reunion Committee is calling on classmates to help support two benefits for Tim Capponi, who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and is now undergoing treatment.
A spaghetti supper will be held Saturday, June 19, at St. Theresa’s Church, and there will be seatings from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There will also be a breakfast on Saturday, June 19, at the King Hiram Lodge on Route 2 in Mexico. There are two seatings, 7 to 8:30 a.m. and 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Father’s Day breakfast
RUMFORD – The Rumford Lodge of Elks No. 862 will host its annual Father’s Day breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday, June 20. The menu will include scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, baked beans, fruit cocktail, toast, orange juice and coffee. All fathers will eat for free; all others will pay $3. Enter at the side entrance.
Task force luncheon
PERU – The Families in Crisis Task Force will hold a community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, June 21, at the Rockemeka Grange, 92 Peru Center Road. The menu will include spaghetti and meatballs, bread sticks, salad and desserts. Donations will be accepted.
Community Networking
RUMFORD – The next monthly Community Networking meeting sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at the Rumford municipal building in the conference room.
The speaker will be Scott Reed, environmental manager at MeadWestvaco. Reed will give an update on the mill’s pollution-prevention programs.
There will also be updates on other organizations’ community activities, including programs of the Healthy Communities Coalition.
