French students

PARIS – Oxford Hills communities have the opportunity to host 17 high school students from France from June 30 to July 23. The students are traveling with the Vistas in Education program of Minneapolis and Paris. They will spend three weeks in Maine improving their English and learning about American culture and family life. The students are between the ages of 13 to 16.

Host families are still needed for six students. Host families provide food and lodging for the student during his or her stay, and students participate in family activities, meals, excursions, even chores. Many families who have hosted students in the past have traveled to France and stayed with their guest student’s family, according to Anne Smith at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. People interested in hosting a student are asked to call Smith at at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School at 743-8914 as soon as possible. Host families should have at least one child between the ages of 13 and 17.
