NORWAY – The Norway Memorial Library will hold its summer reading program kickoff with music by Julie & Brownie from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, at the Guy E. Rowe Cafetorium.
The theme of this year’s program is “Discover New Trails @ Your Library.”
At the kickoff, Julie and Brownie will sing positive, original and traditional songs. The participatory show includes vocals, guitars, five-string banjo, mandolin, sign language and Spanish. The show is appropriate for all ages and is open to the public.
Parents may register their children for the summer reading program and the Norway/Paris swim program from noon to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Public story time will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays for 2- to 5 year-olds and their caregivers. Children will sing songs, listen to stories and participate in a craft.
On Fridays, children up to age 2 and their caregivers may participate in the baby boosters program from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Children in the program will sing songs, listen to a story and participate in a craft.
Children in Grades 1 through 6 are invited to join in the Tuesday and Thursday activity program from 1 to 2:30 p.m. to discover trails, books, food, games, activities and crafts.
Children ages 9 to 12 may join this year’s summer book discussion group, which includes weekly reading requirements and a related activity.
