We applaud the Sun Journal’s complete coverage of Sen. Peggy Rotundo’s primary campaign. She’s a great senator who has certainly won our respect and support.

We do not, however, understand why only her campaign received the benefit of your attention. District 17 involves 10 Androscoggin towns and approximately 42,000 citizens. We assume a majority of these citizens depend on the Sun Journal for their day-to-day information on matters important to them.

Why is it then that the Nutting-Madden race, and its outcome, rated not even one paragraph in the paper’s post-primary reports? Even the (incomplete) actual election figures were tucked away in the advertising section, where many constituents failed to locate them at all and thus were forced to resort to phone calls to learn which candidate had won.

We understand that Lewiston voters are important to the Sun Journal. Please don’t forget the rest of your readers.
