LEEDS – The season-ending tournament for the A-K Girls Softball League will be held Saturday, June 19 at Stinchfield in Leeds. It’s a single-eliimination event starting at 8 a.m. Many players will be future stars for Leavitt, St. Dom’s, Oak Hill and Buckfield schools.

Championship game should begin around 1:45. The tourney is hosted by John Capen. A snack shack will be available.

In a 12-Under game this week, winning pitcher Kassara Varney went 4-4, including a triple and 2 doubles, to lead the Turner Patriots to a come-from-behind 13-12 win over the Greene Eagles. Carrie Rand, Sarah Durgin and Megan Berube also enjoyed a 4-4 night, with Rand legging out a triple. Ashley Hinkley earned a save. Shalie and Courtney Dumont were repeat hitters for the Eagles.
