SEBAGO LAKE – The Schoolhouse Arts Center will present the popular musical “Annie,” based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip and set in the Depression-era 1930s. The adventuresome young Orphan Annie is determined to find her parents. Along the way, she outwits the evil headmistress of the orphanage, Miss Hannigan, and finds love and acceptance from billionaire Oliver Warbucks.

Seasoned Schoolhouse actors and some new young talents will perform in this crowd-pleaser, which includes such well-known songs as “Tomorrow” and “It’s a Hard Knock Life.” Michael Hjort is the director.

Shows are in the Schoolhouse Arts Center, Route 114 in Sebago Lake Village, from July 8 to 25. Shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees are at 5 p.m. Prices: $12 for students and seniors, and $14 for adults. Tickets are available by calling 642-3743.
