CARRABASSETT VALLEY – Sugarloaf/USA will host its annual United Way Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 24. The event, which draws more than 100 participants, benefits the United Way of the Tri-Valley area.

Contestants pay a $120 entry fee, which includes 18 holes on Sugarloaf/USA’s top-ranked course, a golf cart and a full lunch. The tournament has a shotgun start, scramble format starting at 8 a.m. The fund-raiser, now in its 10th year, raised more than $8,000 last year.

Contestants can win one of the five $50 cash prizes as well as one of four “hole in one” prizes, including a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup, 12 dozen Strata Golf Balls, a new set of TopFlite irons and a $250 American Express gift certificate. Awards will be presented to the top three teams in both the low gross and low net categories.
