PORTLAND (AP) – Mike Campo homered and Mike O’Keefe drove in two runs with a bases-loaded single as the Portland Sea Dogs defeated the Bowie BaySox 7-5 Thursday in the Eastern League.
O’Keefe also tripled, while Campo added an RBI on a sacrifice fly.
Kris Wilken’s two-run double was the biggest blow for the BaySox.
Campo’s homer was the key hit as Portland (31-34) grabbed the lead with a run in each of the first two innings.
Matt Walker’s leadoff double and Wilken’s two-run double sparked four runs as the BaySox (36-29) went ahead 4-2 in the third.
O’Keefe’s triple and Jimmy Alvarez’s RBI double helped the Sea Dogs regain the lead with three runs in the fourth, and O’Keefe’s two-run double made it 7-4 in the seventh. The BaySox added a run in the ninth on three singles.
Portland starting pitcher Josh Stevens went eight innings, striking out four, walking none and giving up four runs on nine hits as he improved to 3-5.
