NORWAY – Edith J. Merchant, 67, formerly of Mexico for many years, died Thursday, June 17, at the Norway Rehabilitation & Living Center.

She was born in Mexico, on Oct. 14, 1936, a daughter of Earl and Doris (Marston) Merchant, and graduated from the Maine School for the Deaf in Portland.

She enjoyed her family and especially enjoyed family gatherings.

Survivors include her sisters, Evelyn Gautreau and husband Rene of Rumford, Mary Smith of Oxford; a brother, Earl Glendon Merchant and his wife Arlene of Rockvale, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.
