LEWISTON – Robert Ernest Greenleaf, 71, a resident of Morse Hill in North Jay, died Thursday evening, June 17, at Central Maine Medical Center. He had been a resident of Russell Park Nursing Home for the past three years.

“Bob” was born on June 5, 1933, in Anson, the son of Raymond and Arlene Tripp Greenleaf. He was a graduate of Jay High School and Farmington State Teachers College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960, earning the rank of Corporal.

He taught school in the Winthrop and Lisbon Falls school systems and was a substitute teacher for MSAD 36 and also worked in the woods, retiring in 1990, due to ill health. He enjoyed deer hunting and playing baseball.

He is survived by two brothers, Richard “Cud” and his wife Joan Greenleaf of North Jay and Ronald “Hank” Greenleaf also of North Jay.
